Im 38 weeks 3 days pregnant, i took some castor oil today and now im having really strong contractions, they arent really regular yet, but they are very uncomfortable, My OB said that at my next appointment if my cervix hasnt changed he will try to help it dialate and if that doesnt work they will do a c-section. I have scarring on my cervix due to a LEEP i had done, Im pregnant with number 3. And im stuck at 1cm dialated, 80% effaced. IF i go into the hos. Do you think they will see how uncomfortable i am, and help me along??? My cervix just doesnt want to dialate due to the LEEP. What do i do???

My first guess is , probably not. They will probably keep you there for awhile and watch your contractions to see if they are going to do anything on their own. They are not going to do anything to help progress your labor unless the doctor specifically tells them to. Now that doesn't mean you can't ask them to call your doctor and ask that he do something....

Usually, they only keep you if you're cervix is dialating. I had a friend past due & having contractions 6 minutes apart, but they actually sent her home because she was only 1cm. She had to go back 6 hours later at 3cm before they kept her.

Probably not. They usually keep you when you are 3 cm dilated. However if you are having contractions you could be dilating. Also keep the contractions going, start walking around the pressure on your cervix may dilate you.

Not precisely however that's the fist levels of it that may final for as much as weeks at a time. Hormones getting ready your frame to hard work can reason that nausea, as good as strain to your bowels making them to grow to be unfastened. And it appears like you're wasting your mucous plug, because of this you're to your manner. I misplaced mine across the equal time period as good. Just hold monitor of time once they grow to be constricting and steady. Also while I had hard work with a few of my infants, there used to be best again hard work within the commencing. Call your health care provider. Mine continuously mentioned to time and look forward to steady contractions. Tough name with a primary being pregnant however you in no way recognise.

they'll most likely call your doc and ask him what he wants them to do. they'll usually only keep you if your bag has broken or you're have contractions close together and strong. sounds like it won't be to long now anyway. congrats.
