It is such a good book for ppl that grew up in more than one culture...like the children of immigrants etc. It doesn't even matter what culture it was, you should be able to relate to this book. It is so funny!

I'm not Persian but was still able to relate since I am the child of an immigrant...I finally felt like somebody understood what it was like. LOL

It was wonderful! I was telling my mom about it and was laughing so hard I could barely get the words out when I told her the story of Fritzie Dumbass.
Did you read the edition with the new chapter at the end?
I've listened to some of Firoozeh's essays on NPR and they're equally clever.

Some of the chapters are funny.
But some of them are disgusting.
Be careful. If you want to learn Iranian culture, it s OK.
If you are the first generation of immigrant, don t read it. It hurts you badly, deeply.
