It depends what you're into and what you're looking for.
Vancouver is beautiful, green and the pace of life there is a little slower. There's some great hiking and natural sightseeing. Think a California attitude mixed in the weather in Seatle. So it's rather laid back, but cold and wet.
Montreal is a great city. If Toronto were the stuffy, uptight businessman then Montreal would be the boozy, fun loving uncle that everybody loves. Montreal has a lot of European charm to it, especially in the old city. But for a real European treat, I'd check out the old city in Quebec city. It's so much like Europe there that it's not funny. There's some fabulous nightlife there, some excellent restaurants and some of the best bagels in North America. Of course no trip to Montreal is complete without doing the following:
You have to sit in an outdoor cafe in Place Jacques Cartier, or just about anywhere else and just people watch.
You have to have a bagel from St. Viateur, possibly one of the best bagels you will ever have in your life.
You have to have a smoked meat sandwich with a pickle and Pepsi.
Anything less and you're missing part of the Montreal experience.
Don't worry if you don't speak French, a lot of Montrealers do speak a certain amount of English. It is recommended however that you try to speak a few words.

I would choose Montreal. Both cities are great and very different, however Montreal is special. Not only do you that that old world charm, but the city itself if beautiful. The surrounding area of Vancouver is better, but Montreal is not far behind in that regard. Montreal has better nightlife and restaurants than Vancouver, not by a huge amount but enough to make a difference.
Montreal is like getting a European honeymoon for Canada prices.

Toss a coin!
There is much more to see and do, and more clubs and performing arts, and a wider variety of restaurant cuisines, in Montreal, and it is a far more romantic city than in Vancouver, but the mountains are higher and closer to Vancouver, and of course the sea is there. The lovely small city of Victoria is also just a boat ride away (I would actually advise to you that you should stay longer in Victoria than in Vancouver). Also, in BC you will have the full spectrum of Canada's (some equalling the world's best) greatest wines; in Québec just a few B.C. wines are sold. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and lovely at Montréal; it is spectacular at Vancouver. For a nearby trek into the States you have Seattle for the latter, Vermont for the former; certainly among the very best parts of the US.

Vancouver, B.C. would be my choice for honeymoon rather than Montreal...Vancouver is known for one of more romantic/beautiful city in the world...world-class food, restaurants, great seafood, sushi bars..I mean if you look at the city from high above the plane, Yvr is basically romantic city of island surrounded by water. Visit Victoria and you'll get a flavor of Canadian/European feel, Buchard garden in june, one of breath-taking outdoor garden..stop by Chinatown..one of the largest Chinatown in the world, take the ferry on a trip...take the sea bus from one island to another...and then romantic, safe, clean downtown Yvr...i been there eight times before and loved every experience there!! even McDonalds food tasted better in Canada...don't know why..lol
honeymoon in Yvr, then take a vacation trip to Montreal later on.

With its hill foundation and urban beaches, Vancouver has got the rightly earned reputation of being one of the most lovely cities on the planet, with hotelbye you will have the chance to see this excellent city. One of the places you need to see in Vancouver is the Downtown Vancouver. Downtown Vancouver is brilliantly positioned on a peninsula in the Strait of Georgia bounded to the south by the delta of the Fraser River and to the north by a heavy fiord achieving much inland. Here you can even see the often snow-covered ranges of the Coast Mountains. Stanley Park is one of the most visited parks. Is just a lush Peninsula Park of big woods adjacent to Downtown Vancouver. A smooth seawall journey encircles the green space, and many guests take the time to investigate on foot or by bicycle. Inland, the park offers many things to accomplish, and readers may spend a full time discovering attractions including the totem rods at Brockton Point to the west shore sea living at the Vancouver Aquarium. Spectacular opinions are a normal throughout the park.

Depends on what type “culture” you are looking for. Both have a thriving Arts and Culture community, fabulous food, great shopping, and lots to see and do. If you are looking for romantic European charm, then go to Montreal. If mountains, water, and hiking are more your thing, then come to Vancouver!

Depends on what you like, if you enjoy nature, outdoors, etc, go to Vancouver. If you like a more Cosmopolitan city, go to Montreal. Both cities are great.

i dunno about you... but i don't like montreal. too dirty and smoggy... and lots of homeless and scary looking people in the streets.
i may be biased coz i lived in vancouver... but it's such a wonderful city. i'm living now in seattle... and i totally miss the place. seattle definitely, in my opinion, is not upto par with vancouver. top 3 best place in the world to live.
