I loved these books! It's a series with 3 books by Nora Roberts. It's about 6 people, 3 men and 3 women, all endowed with amazing powers. A witch, a sorcerer,a vampire, a vampire slayer, a queen, and a shape shifter all have to come together to save the worlds from an evil vampire queen who wants to destroy it. I could not keep myself away from these books. Part one is Morrigan's Cross, two is Dance of the Gods, and three is Valley of Silence. Trust me war, romance, magic, and a struggle between good and evil. Read it!

I would recommend for you to read either Nora Roberts Books like "Anglels Fall, Morrigan's Cross, and so many other thrillers that she has. Especially try JD Robb which is actually Nora Roberts but writing as a thriller/romance author. If you are going to read JD Robb read the first book which is Naked in Death and believe me you'll LOVE it!!!

The Gift by Julie Garwood. Two warring families, pirates, romance...not necessarily thriller but very exciting...
Castles by Julie Garwood. Has some of the same characters as The Gift but about a different couple. Has a murder mystery, you read thoughts of the murderer who is thirsty for blood, also very exciting...

I'd say they're more of a comedy/thriller but the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich are a fun summer read.

Try Stephen King's "Horror at Crouch End" (it is a short tale, an homage to H. P. Lovecraft). It's the best horror/thriller I ever read combining modernity and horror literature.

You could try Sandra Brown, Karen Robards, Tami Hoag...or JD Robb. They are more suspense/romance but still very good.

Sorry, but for thriller/crime, nobody will ever beat P D James. She is now pretty elderly, and I do not know if she will write another novel, but believe me (for thriller/detective) you will never find anyone to beat her. She is EXCELLENT.
