please someone give me an est. on how much longer. I am 37 weeks and 2 days. but they said they cant induce me because i am group b + but she did say castor oil... any ideas, thoughts ANYTHING!!!! IM MISERABLE

It could take up to two or three weeks still. Just because you're almost effaced doesn't mean you're really close. Know that the baby will come out when he 's ready, so it's good you won't be induced.
Castor oil is dangerous, it can bring on violent contractions, and you may not even go into labour.
I say WALK WALK WALK as much as possible. That's what helped me. And if feel like it, have some sex. That will help you efface more.
You're only 37 weeks, it's not so bad. Take this time to relax , get some sleep, get the house ready, see friends, spent time with your partner... It'll all happen before you know it. Best of luck with everything. Have a great baby.

I was Strep B positive and they induced me. CAstor oil is a horrible thing to do. It works like a laxative and pulls nutrients and fluid away from the baby. You still have technically 3 wks left. Noone here can predict when you will go into labor. EVERYONE is miseraable at this stage,EVERYONE.I don't understand why they told you you can't be induced. It has no bearing on group B strep status. You'll get I.V antibiotics for it, not a big deal. It seems like your doctor is still thinking you are too early.Inductions can be extrememly painful because they cause HARD contractions and they have to manually rupture your membranes so you don't want that. Are you dialated at all ? Some women are dialated at 6 for wks. I was 80% effaced and still went to 42 wks.YOur body will go into labor when it's ready or your doc feels it' time to induce. Your baby can still benefit from time in the womb. Just try to relax and enjoy your last 3 wks of freedom.

Be patient...I had 6..including a set of twins..I took castor oil with all of them and it worked for all but the twins which really were not due for 2 more months as the Dr. miscalculated my delivery date because I was so huge..This was back before they ultra sounds and all the ways they have now of telling you are having multiple births...The castor oil will not hurt you if even if it does not work but I am betting it will...With my last one it only took 4 hrs and I was in labor...Good luck!

Give it time-the baby WILL come out! But..things these won't harm you and MAYBE will help: walking, squatting, sex, spicy foods, any exercise (don't go overboard!)...I know there's more I can't think of right now. My Dr. told me that castor oil MIGHT work but it's not worth the diahrea you will end up with...not fun. I went to 41 weeks with mine...it was hard so I know what you're feeling! Hang in there!

It was 3cm and 80% for 3 weeks sorry to tell you that but it all depends!! Castrol oil does work for some people not me!! Try to walk a lot iknow that does not sound good right now but if your miserable enough you'll do it!! I just had my baby boy 2 weeks ago it's an amazing thing!!! Good

well what they are telling you is that your cervix is starting to thin out and we use percentage as a rating,ex 50-100%, so your body is getting ready for the birth of your baby soon.
The reason why they will not induce your preg., is because you are still early, you have to be at least 38-40wks preg. and having group b strep could be treated with antibiotics when you go into labor.

My bet is that you have at least one more week in there. Walk around ALOT. You can try the castor oil however you may get sick off of it. Of course there is the old standby of sex. Hang in there you'll make it.

You should really wait as long as you can cause the baby comes when it is ready and you would be alot more misreable if the baby was not able to go home with you due to prematurity bacause you self induced!

I was 100% effaced and dialated to 2 for over a week before going into labor.

it does not matter what you do caster oil will only make you **** alot walking and sex may help although both are very uncomfy .... you aint got much longer though think of it this way you went all this time 2 more weeks wont kill you
