I think good animation is good and bad animation is bad, no matter where it came from. There is some anime that I like a lot, but there's also quite a bit that I think is terrible. Saying that you love or hate all anime is kind of like saying you either love or hate all French painting. It's just silly to lump the entire output of a whole country together, even if there are stylistic similarities. I think even the most uninformed person could take a brief look at a few titles and recognize that "Pokemon" is different from "Akira" which is different from "Cowboy Bebop" which is different from "Legend of the Overfiend". I prefer to evaluate each film or show I see individually, not based on its country of origin.

NO WAY! i'm so in love wit Inuyasha and Sailor Moon, even Pokemon a little bit. But I mean most of the Cartoons in a America are based around manga/anime. I bet more than half the shows on Cartoon Network are Anime or are based off of anime.

I don't hate anime and I don't think I every will. Although there are some bad animes that shouldn't even have been put on tv. If you want good anime, don't watch all of the shows on Adult Swim because they started to add bad shows. The people who hate anim might have just had a bad experience with it, you know they might have watched one of those crappy animes. But hey bad shows are everywhere you just find a good one and firget about the bad ones.

No way.....after seeing those so called cartoons showing on television....anime is the best route to go
I would live and breath it all day long...........
trust me nothing better after a stressful day at work or whatever than a bowl of popcorn or whatever you can scrap from the fridge, sit down on the couch and pop in at least........3- 8 anime classics/ collectables to watch (sailor moon, final fantasy etc),

Personally no! I love them.I could understand other people not liking it. I bet you these are the people who thinks anime is just regular cartoons. They're not. When it comes to it, it's a matter of preference. Like some people like horror movies and some people don't. Not fair to judge people just from what they prefer to watch ne?

depends on the anime. some is childish and silly (Pokemon, Captain Tsubasa, ect). some is really thought provoking, philisophical even (Sayuki, X 1999, Tsubasa [o.k. anything by Clamp], ect.). and some is both (Ranma 1/2, Naruto, InuYasha, FLCL). So like i said, depends on the anime.

Don't hate it, but I wonder about non-Japanese who are obsessed with it. Usually anyone over, say, 15 in Japan who is really into it is labeled as a misfit/pervert.
