Sort of -

How would you feel if the milk a mother must buy was 500 dollars ? Well stop having kids ? No How about food ? How about water ?

Gas prices are not what you think they are

A barrel of US oil (and it is measured in US imperial ) is 42 gallons -

Do the math - if it costs 70 dollars US -

The refineing then right ? 16 % of the base price and when they refine it they get another product out of it - Diesal Kerosine Not quite the loss they sell it as -

But nonetheless add 16 % of base price

Oil company mark up - 2 % And they make billions off this 2%

The rest is tax

Your government and mine make up a huge portion of the price at the pump -

The governments have no motivating factor to fix it they make a killing - 35 % at the very least according to government web pages (Canada) are taxes The American tax on gas is slightly better - SLIGHTLY Europe is through the roof in terms of the extortion they are getting away with

Stop driving and you will bankrupt your government long before the oil company goes under

The people should educate themselves - But as Hitler once said " It is lucky for leaders that men do not think "

So the robbery goes on and will likely not stop any time soon - Yeah blame the oil company blame the Arabs blame the communists from the 50's - Your government has it's hands stuck in your pocket's so deep they know if your fly is a button or a zipper - but clearly it's someone else

Yes the oil company is partially to blame yes the Arab oil producing nations are in on the problem - but the real bulk of this is closer to you than you know

Not everyone has the option or the TIME to take public transportation. I work full time and go to school just about full time in two completely different cities--neither one I live in and where I do live there is no public transportation. Maybe don't be so selfish and think about what other people have going on in their lives and that not every city has public transportation. Its not like most of the people drive around just for the fun of it; they have somewhere they need to be. Also, I don't blame the gas prices on the war, Bush or the owners of the gas stations. It is the oil companies though; price increases to an extent are one thing but flat out gouging is ridiculous. You must have an unlimited amount of time and disposable income to not be upset/affected by the price of gas these days. Also, when you make a profit on your home it is usually from putting your money into it or the land value going up from more things being built in the city that are to better the city you live in which you would benefit from in one way or another. Tell me, why in a only week's time is it reasonable for gas to go up 11 cents per gallon consecutively for months and where the benefit is in that? Quit driving??? Yeah, that would be nice wouldn't it, come on be reasonable here!

Making a profit is perfectly fine, however gouging, manipulating costs in a market place, when there's few alternatives for the buyers is just plain greedy. When you're sitting on your 24 K gold 'throne', while the rest of the world just tries to make ends meet or worse, don't be surprised if we come as a mob, crashing down your door, screaming "off with their heads". Everyone has choices, whether yours is based on selfishness or humanitarianism is up to you, but there's always consequences to those choices. You figure out which will bring good or bad Karma, or at the least ill-will from those you seek to profit from? Believe me the anger over gas & oil prices is only going to increase, so brace yourself!

Well some of us don't have that option. It might work in big cities but doesn't work well in small towns. I live in the country and I would have to walk 10 miles to the closest bus stop. And then take a bus out of town. We have no trains that could take me to work. Get the point! We need to get off of oil and go ethanol.......I would much rather pay OUR AMERICAN FARMERS than the middle East.........The answer is for the car companies to roll out affordable non gasoline cars. You can't tell me as complex as cars are that they can't figure out how to get off gas. Its ridiculous. .........They say american drivers are the problem but hello give us a solution.....I tell you why they don't want to......its because they are greedy and want all that money.......Bottom line they need to give us a better solution. IF they did you would find alot of people on board.

yeah you can dictate the profit when you make your own oil.. Else what do u do ?
You buy from seller.. and costomise to your country and then keep a profit margin and then sell it again...

all buy oil from arab countries.. Get it here .. Process them and then again distribuite to locations.. what the cost involved in this? If you can answer this you can fix your gas prices on your own

Theirs a point when gouging goes to an extreme.
The buyer can choose which house he wants to buy.
We cant choose which gas to buy, its all around the same price.
We cant go without driving, cause some people would have to change jobs, change schedules and everything. Its to extreme to quit driving.
So they are basically making us buy gas at any price they want it to be.

EXACTLY! In order to make gas prices go down we need to stop driving, and find some other way of transportation such as bus, train, bike or even carpool. We will save money and gas
