try going to a LV boutique or adepartment store like Saks Fifth Avenue (they usually have an LV counter) and get them to see if it's fake or not.

It really depends. If you paid a lot of money for it, then it could be authentic. If it was like $10, then it probably wasn't authentic. Look at the leather and if it has a fake leather smell then its fake. To make sure if it is real or fake go to a Louis Vuitton store or like a Saks Fifth Avenue or Neiman Marcus and ask one of the People there.

One of the first things to check is the LV logos on the purse. A real LV will never cut the material through the letters LV. If the seem is cut and sown on the letters then it is a fake. Also look at the hardware this is an easy way to tell. Most real LV in the USA are actually made in the USA and will say so on the label. Not that you can't buy a real LV made in Paris in the US but it is rare.

A truly great knockoff is almost impossible to tell apart from the real thing - at least unless you know what you're looking for. The quality of the stitching is usually the first giveaway...

If you bought it off a crackhead, then there is a good chance that it could be authentic - but stolen...

Is the inside canvas or a material that feels like suede? if its canvas there is a better chance its real. also look at the hardware and the stitching. if its authentic, no stitches will be off and usually the hardware will carry the logo. but it is getting increasingly harder to tell since the wearhouses that produce the authentic bags by day usually illegally produce counterfeit bags by night of the same pattern and material. the only way to tell for absolute certain is to take it into a store. i took a class in international trade... i hope that helps!

If you look at the code, and it seems its faded, or shadowing anouther number, it fake.
