I have a similar problem, except I have red AND yellow undertones in my skin. My complexion is beige. Some consider it olive and some consider it fair. Neither description is accurate. Most makeup for olive skin is way too dark. In addition, ALL makeup for fair skin is way too light, so I have a terrible time finding the right color.

I stick with a light beige foundation with no undertones or a slight yellow undertone. If my skin gets darker, I'll just add blush or a bit of bronzer. I don't do well with Maybelline or Clinique, but Cover Girl (drugstore) and Lancome (dept. store) work for me. You can do the same, just get ivory to beige foundation depending on your skin tone, making sure it has a bit of yellow in it to counteract your red undertones. Also, you can go to Prescriptives and have them match you perfectly. It's expensive, but worth it.

Well, I think that it really depends on WHICH type of foundation it is and HOW you apply it. I'm gonna give you some information and advice about foundation and you decide whether it's right for you or not =).

**There are different types of foundation, here are the core types of foundation**

* Liquid Foundation
* Cream Foundation
*Powder Foundation

**Here's some info about each**

* Liquid: Liquid foundation is an oil or water based type of foundation that comes in a spray can container. This is the best foundation to use if u have naturally clear skin, but discolored skin. This is the easiest to apply and best if you have oily skin.

* Cream: Cream foundation is a cream based foundation that usually comes in a stick or a compact. This is the best foundation if you have blemishes or zits. This easy to apply but can seem caked if over used. This is best if you have blemishes and discoloration.

* Powder: Powder foundation is a talc based foundation that usually comes in a compact form. This is the best foundation if you are short of time. This is the fastest to apply but can be extremely messy and tacky. This is best if you need a quick way to coverup.

**Here are some videos that show how to apply it**
