I wanted to see how both Dems and Repubs, as well as independents feel about him.

I find him amazingly refreshing. A politician that actually speaks in straight talk, no run-around when asked a question about his position on the issue, and has a strong backbone.

Search for him on youtube and listen to the short clips of him speaking on issues such as immigration, he makes the most sense.

When asked his thoughts on the Amnesty Bill in the senate, he replied “Well, no matter how much lipstick you put on this pig, it won’t be winning any beauty contests.”

I strongly believe that he is the best man to lead this country in the troubling times ahead

The only bad thing that anyone has said about him is he is a actor.
For those who say that, so was Regan, and he was a great president.
And, besides, At least that is a HONEST profession for a former Senator. Look at what alot of the others do....

And at least he stands up for what he believes in, unlike alot of the other candidates who change their stance with each poll.

I Hope he does run, he will get MY vote.

I seem to see the right constantly whining about the Hollywood elite. What is Fred Thompson, chopped liver?

He is not refreshing he is stereotypical conservative nothing less and nothing more. We have had all that before.

Outside of his role on TV most people have never heard of him. They may not equate him as being the same person especially if one doesn't watch the show he was on.

He doesn't have a large war chest with which to battle the biggies to win the nomination.

His record as a former member of Congress from Tennessee is nothing to brag about. Mediocre at best.

I consider myself a Republican voter, and I honestly don't know enough about Fred Thompson. I'll be voting for the other Thompson, former Wis. Governor Tommy Thompson. I trust his leadership more than any other Republican candidate on the ticket. I might even vote for Newt Gingrich if he decides to throw his hat in the ring. I definitely will not vote for Guiliani or Romney, even if they get the GOP nod. They aren't social conservatives.

Fred Thompson is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

He is a globalist and has the same one world agenda as the CFR.

He is for the North American Union and the New World Order..

I am really gonna check him out when he officially starts his campaign. I just want a "non-politically correct" person somewhere in Government. He does make strong and appealing statements. Let's see if he stands by them or spews words for votes as most of the other candidates do.

with all due respect i think he's just another phony politician. i don't hold that against him, they're all phony. im not a republican but he seems like a decent guy, i doubt i would vote for him but he would probably be an ok president.

but really, don't fall for the whole "outsider maverick" image. its just another role politicians play, doesn't make them special, politicians are good actors, and fred thompson actually is an actor.

You know that is a very valid question. He was a senator and he is educated and I don't think he kisses butt....Yeah why not.

Thompson gained 10 points overnight. I think he is the best person for getting America out of the mess the chimp put us into!

Right now before I see anything negative I am a cautious supporter of his.

He doesn't exactly inspire a whole lot of excitement.

I'm sure he is a competent fellow, but for some reason reminds me of a Bob Dole.
