Do not clean it, that green corrosion actually has eaten into the coin, you will damage the coin further. The mintage for the 1851 large cent is 9,889,707 so it is not a scarce date. There is an 1851 with the 51 over 18 it is scarcer. the 1851 is worth about $17.50 in grade good and the 1851/18 is worth $21 in the same grade. A dealer needs to see it to determine what grade it is. The above prices are about what a dealer will pay. Your coin may grade higher even with taking the corrosion in consideration.

I do not know the value of the penny but you can clean it with tooth-paste.

I would take it to a local coin dealer. Do not try to clean it. You might damage it.

do not clean it, although it will be more shiny collectors do not approve of cleaning coins. leave it as it is and you might get $15.
