Remember that pH + pOH = 14

Also remember that pX = -log[X]

So, if pH = 9, then :

pOH = 14 - pH = 14 - 9 = 5

If pOH = 5 = -log[OH], then [OH] = 10^-5

The concentration of hydrogen ions would be 10^9, leaving 10^5 to make up the difference.
