Haha...I read your last question and couldn't be one more person you had to deal with.
My take on this is that school is only so important but bonding with family is MOST important. Yes, your son should go, providing he understand this is time away from his studies. Hopefully though your husband and son will share a memory they'll never forget. Perhaps you should join them and take pictures for them. Make dinner on the beach tonight and quiz your son while you eat.

Your 15 year-old should be mature enough to make this decision for himself! If he thinks he needs the time to study, then he'll stay home. If he feels confident about the study time he's already put in, he'll go. If he does poorly on the finals, though, you can use that as leverage when he wants to do something else that you don't want him to do. This is a great forum to teach him that there are consequences to our actions, but it's time he makes decisions on his own!

Maybe you should give him a little quiz on each subject and make sure he got most of that stuff down and if he does pretty good then let him go. If he does bad then don't. Good Luck on the Finals and I hope I helped.

Absolutely not. Grades before surfing in this case is the only reasonable rule. I can feel your pain and theirs and know the area and teenaged boys and dads and surfing. I have been there done that. Grades rule. Hang ten.

sure, you can't study for to long, it doesn't usually make a difference, either way he'll do the same on the test as he would if he didn't go, in fact he might do better because he got to have some fun.

If the waves are firing...they've got to get out there. It's not everyday you get good swell and nice offshore conditions like today. He can do some more studying after they get home.

in 10 years he'll remember the surfing with his Dad more than his math and english final.

Education comes first and then hanging out. If he is done the finals early then take him out of school.
