There is NEVER under any circumstances any reason for a spouse to hit their partner. NEVER EVER...
Call the authorities before it's too late. If you do nothing, it will happen again...Not if, but when it happens again call the police.

Once should be enough for you. When people show who they are the first time believe them. Don't give them the chance to hit you again.

if he did it once, i'd try to work it out, and make it very clear that it was unacceptable. twice, and it would be over. no one, male or female, should be abused!
