Why do most people think that cheerleaders are stuck up, and all these other things.
I became a cheerleader for my high school a few months back. and from the behavior I have seen from the last year cheerleaders no one really likes them!I really just want to socialize with everyone at the school and not be stereotyped for being a cheerleader. I have always enjoyed cheerleading! and I hope none of this effects me! Please tell me what you think!

If you are a cheerleader, tell me what people think or say about you.

And if you are not a cheerleader, tell me what you think of them!

Of course, be TRUTHFUL!

Cheerleaders do and always will have that stuck-up stigma attached to them. If you enjoy it, then continue doing it. I was not a cheerleader, but I was friends with a few of them. Some of the nicest girls I have ever known.

I am not a cheerleader, but some of my friends are. I wouldn't do it myself, but I don't think I have problems with it. I don't like the image they portray because of the image you stated, but it all really depends on your motives. If your doing it just to be popular
people will know. There will always be things said about you so don't worry about them if you have pure motives.

Not all cheerleaders are stuck up, but many are. They tend to only socialize with other cheerleaders and boys on the football field and basketball court. HELLO, other people exist too, but of course, these other people can't stand cheerleaders anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

It doesn't matter. In a few years, that will go faster than the years did up till' now, you'll graduate and none of this kind of stuff will matter. You'll outgrow it. You'll have biger stuff to worry about, and you'll wish you were back in High School.

Weird how we're just never happy.

I am a JV cheerleader.

People don't really think that about us. There are no real 'preppy' people at our school, they just see us as having school spirit, being 'nice' kids because most of the kids at my school ditch most of the time, are in gangs, and are not good influences.

When I cheered in high school my squad had a bad reputation because most of them were snotty and easy, not because they were preppy polied brats that stereotypes portrayed them to be. I quit after a year because of that stigma that they brought upon themselves. If you enjoy cheering, go for it and to heck with whatever people think. You can be friends with whomever you please.
