I always had problems when it comes to 'so called' friends. Im 20 and i dont have any friends. I try hard to be pleasant to people, to go out of my way and speak, to out on a friendly face and really try.
At school i was bullied, and i became really shy and lacking in self esteem and confidence. At college i was no different. I used to keep myself to myself and was very quiet. I find it hard to socialise somtimes, in fact i hate it.
I hate my life because its not normal to have no friends at all. People that i used to know in the past were backstabbers and users, and it did no good for my confidence.
What am i doing wrong and why cant i seem to make any friends?

im not working, ive just finished university right this moment. school really did it for me, it knocked all the confidence out of me and ive never really been able to get that back. i have acquaintances 'people that you say hi and bye too' but thats it. no mates.

Your ( family) will always be there for you. Think of what your family is to you. Be yourself and people will like you for you and then you will find true friends. Don't try to hard to make friends, but trust in God and he will help you overcome any obsticles in your life. Good Luck.......

Sorry to hear that pixiebell. To be honest, I'm in much the same boat as you. I've got 2 good friends and their partners and that's about it.
I don't think you're doing anything wrong but you don't say where you're trying to make friends. The workplace is fine as are small social gatherings like a party at a friends where you might meet new people.
The only other thing I can suggest is that you join a club of some sort. Whether it's a gym or the local pub pool team or even some adult education. If you meet people with the same interests as you, you'll make friends with them a lot easier.
And hey, if that doesn't work out, you've got 6 million friends right here on Yahoo Answers. :)

Its Easy For Me To Make Friends. But Sometimes Some People Are Harder To Communicate With. So It Makes It Harder To Be Friends With Them

I know making freinds is hard but don't go out of your way and be too over freindly people are different. Try creating an account on My Space be honest and make sure you make it known that you wan to make freinds. I have made some friends on this site and My Space as well. My space is free also and you can meet freinds there all types of people and it cuts out having to see these people face to face. I could be your freind as well just send me a message and I will get back to you if you want.

try having 1 friend to start with,talk to someone at work and invite them to lunch or join a group ,like keep fit class or night classes, make one friend at a time and try not to come on too intense as that can be off putting . lots of people have acquaintances but it s hard to have true friends they come along only once in a while .good luck

Ive had the same. thought i had decent friends but they werent, dont beat yourself up about it they are the ones that should feel bad.
I would suggest you join a club, something you are interested in to make friends dont let these nasty people drag you down lifes too short!!!!

R u fat or ugly? maybe that why jk i'm just being stupid i dont' know like i have lots of friends but i feel like none of them are close to me u know. like i have only one really good girlfriend and besides that i don't have like really good girlfriend at all. i have lots of guy friends who likes me for wrong reason which sux. i guess there is just people who can't have any friends.
