No i does not hurt when you are playing football. The reason that it does not hurt is because of the shoulder pads, thigh pads, knee pads and helmet. When the football game starts and you begin to play, adrenaline rushes through your body and you feel no pain when you get hit. now if you get hurt (ex.broken bone, tearing of a cartlige)while playing, then there is pain involved.

It can hurt - even with all the pads. Without the pads it can definitely hurt.

Thats why we use pads in American football - so the defenders can really level somebody without worrying about killing them accidently.

It can. Just depends on where you get hit. Nothing worth worrying about, though. Make yourself cowboy up, and it's all good.
