We have been friends for many years now. I am just wondering about my sexuality. Can someone who enjoys the company of both sexes be gay? Does being gay just wear off on you and you become gay? I am really confused.

Being gay is not like an infectious disease. You can't just "catch" it or have it rubbed off on you. Just because you enjoy the company of the same sex does not necessarily make you gay. The fact that your best friend is gay could just lead you to be more curious than if you were always around straight people.

To be gay you have to be born that way.

Just because you have been friends with someone who is gay doesn't make you gay. It makes you his friend.

You can be friends with anyone you like - male or female. In fact a person who has friends of both sexes has more advantages socially.

Your sexuality is defined as what excites you sexually (an erection is usually the easiest way to tell).

If a guy excites you but not a girl then you are gay. If a girl excites you but not a guy then you are straight. If both excite you then you are Bi.

You're not really serious, are you? Of course it doesn't "wear off on you," and enjoying the company of both sexes is normal, whether you're gay or straight. It's who you want to sleep with that matters.

Well, I under no circumstances speak approximately women *mistake on my facet*, and folks more often than not recognize I'm homosexual with out even asking me seeing that of it. I understand how it feels to be in love with a person who you do not know if they are homosexual/bi or no longer. I'm truthfully in that variety of a main issue proper now, I do not understand how I nonetheless have wish, however he has a female friend, and I nonetheless have stored marching alongside (after a night time of crying, an afternoon of giving up on lifestyles, and a further night time of crying). There might be no cause to take your lifestyles, I can fully grasp why you' believe depressed and that you just believe by myself, there are bigger days there for you. They say unrequited love places you on a curler coaster experience of feeling blissful and unhappy, I'd say for me it is approximately proper, however I do not know your main issue. If you quite believe him, inform him you are homosexual, earlier than it is too past due.

LMAO! Sorry... had to get that laugh out. My best friend thought the same thing when I came out. She wouldnt even let me touch her, because thought I'd "turn her gay". She stopped being my friend for many months before realizing that although she doesnt agree with it, and she doesnt like it, that it cant turn her gay and that she should support me.

So now its been 14 months and we talk again. Even tho we aren't best friends, we can hang out without her thinking that she can catch "gayness". Lolz

I used to run my fingers up and down her arms and say "Gosh I really want you to be gay"... "You should turn gay". haha... she hated it then!, but she laughs about it now. :-)

What? are you serious? Of course its not going to make you gay. Nothing can make a person gay. They either are or aren't.

do people really still think they can catch it?
the most your are going to catch is curiosity.
looks like you have already fallen victim to that.
maybe having a gay friend will open your mind. and thats a good thing.

YOu are confused and uneducated. If you like girls, and want to have sex with them, you are not gay. If you like your best friend, and want to have sex with him and girls, you are bisexual.. If you don't like girls and crave sex wtih guys you are gay. Look at yourself and decide, we can't do that for you.
