In the summer of 1986, Rick Savage was in Europe. He was in a car accident there. The car flipped over and his arm was separated from his body. Doctors tried to reattach it but the medical technology wasn't as good as it is now. So they sewed it back on but they eventually had to remove it.

He was driving at a very excessive speed in Sheffield,England he lost control of the car, wrecked it into a wall, and was thrown out. When he got up his arm was ripped off. The Doctor's tried to re-attach the arm but it didn't respond and had to be taken off again. This happened prior to the recording of "Hysteria."

Sorry Laura S. he wasn't in a fatal car accident otherwise he'd be dead. Wow.
He lost his arm in a car accident, it was re-attached but due to an infection whitch would have cost him both arms the doctors had to remove it.

Car wreck racing someone who was driving a Jaguar, I think. His arm was tore off in the accident. A nurse happened to be on her way to work and helped him. His arm was reattached, but had to be removed againg due to infection.

he and a girl were drunk speeding and they hot a tree and the drummer flew out and landed in a field and when he got up he relized that his arm as missing so he basicly got his arm ripped off
