A vaires directly as B:

If a is 6.3 when b is 70, find b when a is 5.4

if a is -5 when b is 2.5, find b when a is 6

if b is -3/5 when a is -9/10, find a when b is 1/3

These are all worked the same way.
a/b = c/d
Fill in the knowns and solve for the unknown.

Example, 6.3/70 = 5.4/b
b (6.3/70) = 5.4; b = 5.4/(6.3/70) = 60

You do the rest...

Question 1
a = kb
6.3 = 70 k
k = 6.3 / 70 = 63 / 700 = 9 / 100
b = a / k
b = 5.4 x 100/9
b = 540/9
b = 60
Question 2
- 5 = 2.5 k
k = - 2
b = a / (-2)
b = 6 / (-2)
b = - 3
Question 3
-9/10 = (- 3/5).k
k = 45/30
k = 3/2
a = (3/2) x (1/3)
a = 1/2

A=kB 6.3=k*70 k= 6.3/70 b=A/k = 5.4/(6.3/70) = 60

The rest of the problems are solved similarly.

the easy way is to find out how much one unit is
transform a=6.3 b=70 into 63 b=700 then a/63=1 b/63=11.1 wich is how much will b grow for each unit of a
a=5.4 b=5,4*11.1=60
a=-5 b=2.5 *10
a=-50 b=25
a=-1 b=0.5
a=0 b=0
a=1 b=-0.5
a=6 b=3

b=(-3/5)*2 a=-9/10
b=-6/10 a=-9/10
or you can try the 3 -simple rule

-0.6....................-0.9
0.33...................x
x=-0.9*0.33/-0.6=4.95

b= 60

b= -3

a= .5

you switched the A's and B's on the last question... it almost screwed me up, haha
