I'd rather be smart but think i was dumb
cuz the other way around would make me a Paris Hilton.

Neither I rather be smart and actually have my potential to back it up. People are dumb because you let yourself be. Even people who can literally be smart. I know sometimes I try to learn things and get it but I don't always get it. I still don't give up and that's what makes me smart is by not giving up. Now there are some people out there who really think they're dumb but they are putting themselves down and not giving themselves any credit. So the answer is I'd rather think I'm smart and really be smart.
Don't focus on negativity....tell yourself on positive aspects and prove it.

I think I just wasted 15 seconds of my life reading this question, 30 seconds thinking about it and 45 seconds typing this answer.
Being a smart person, I conclude that I did a dumb thing by wasting this time.
Smart people know they are smart but still do dumb things.
Dumb people never realize that they do dumb things but sometimes do smart things that reinforce their delusion of smartness.
If I am as smart as I think I am I will end this dumb diatribe right now.

Maybe it's better to just be who you are and what you are. Either you're dumb or smart, I don't think it will matter in the end, because what you really are will eventually show up. Ergo, I'd rather be truthful about who I am.
