I want to set up the fax option for my 4in 1 printer. Can I just plug everything in and be able to fax or do I have to do something else?

Generally, just plug it in, with the following points in mind:

1. If you have an answering machine or an answering system (even an in-phone-company one), either it or the fax, if it's on auto answer, will always pick up the call and the other will always be empty. In other words, you can't put the fax on auto answer on an automatically answered line.
2. That being said, you CAN contact the phone company and see if you can set up different rings for fax and normal calls. This will most certainly cost extra each month, and you should check that the all-in-one can be programmed to take advantage of it.

Outbound faxes don't need any special considerations.

The fax should just pick up if you let it ring.
