If this is a serious question, then it reveals a substantial lack of understanding of the law, and the facts of the case.

Any "outing" of her name was not a crime. Armitage (who was most assuredly not "under orders from Cheney) revealed it, and the prosecutor kept the case going for years after he learned that fact.

Lying under oath is serious. Libby has to deal with the consequences. I do think there was a great deal of unfairness - disproprtionality - in his trial and sentencing.

There was a lynch mob mentality, not totally dissimilar from the atmosphere prevailing at the trial of the Scottsboro boys.

I think anyone sincerely concerned about "leaks" would be much more upset about revelations of war-fighting measures exposed in the media and therefore robbed of their effectiveness.

The Wilson case has been so distorted and mishandled that I think the White House was guilty of gross incompetence.

PS The possibility exists that the special prosecutor acted without sufficient constitutional authority, since the independent counsel statute was allowed to expire in about 2000. Which means the case could be thrown out!

If you really want to know...both crimes could be considered TREASON ! Some folks are cool with that, because it futhers their ideals for World Domination ! Just as the Bushrovians are supported by a 20 or 30 % part of the sheeple, the folks knowing the truth are about the same ratio. That leaves lots of confused, scared, and angry folks in the middle ! The perfect prey for the Nazi-cons, and the corrupt media ! Thank you Y.A. for letting all of us Americans speak out !

Some people here are deluded. "Nobody was outed", "Libby didn't commit a crime", WOW!

I didn't know obstructing law enforcement was not a crime, color me surprised. Any other revelations the remaining Bush supporters want to make? Do leprechauns and fairies also exist? Will we find those weapons of mass destruction some day? And Bush WILL restore honesty and integrity to the White House some day, he's just waiting for the right moment, eh Bush Supporters?

It is the prosecutor, Fitzgerald. He learned the name of the person who leaked the information (Armitage) early in his investigation, yet he kept dragging Libby to testify in front of the Grand Jury multiple times. What was his objective? To find the truth or to try to trip an administration official into perjuring himself.
This is very bad for the future investigations, since no reasonable person would be advised to actually answer any question. It is much smarter to keep your mouth shut or to simply say: "I do not remember...".

Cheney. When in doubt, always assume that what Cheney does is worse. Even compared to Bush.

Plame denied recommending her husband for the Nigerian trip. She stated she did no longer keep in mind, and outright denied it under oath. The protection lawyer's produced her hand written memo recommending her husband. I nonetheless think of they call that perjury. in case you perjur your self in courtroom it makes something of any testimony you furnish suspect. i think of they could additionally cost her with perjury.
