I hear from pro choicers that the government has no right to tell women what to do with their bodies. Yet, these same people object to stripping, and pornography. They say stripping is degrading to women. Is this hypocracy? Is an abortion somehow "empowering" to women??? Should we outlaw both??
Thank You.

kenfx- Ask ANY feminist if he/she approves of stripping??
stiggo- The point I am making is that THEIR argument is that a woman should NOT be told what to do with her body, yet complain when she does something that THEY deem degrading.

I'm not sure. I'm totally against abortion but all for strippers.
There is a cute little French Poodle down the street that's always sauntering around with he provocative grooming.

I'm a "pro choicer", and I don't object to stripping/pornography. If a woman wants to act like a slut in front of cameras, I say go for it. That's her choice and I have no problem with it.
I also personally think the idea of the government telling me what I can or cannot do with my body is scary. If a woman concieves a child without her consent, she has the right to choose if she has to go through childbirth or not. Not to mention the poor kid would be an orphan if she disowned it.

I'm a feminist and I approve of stripping and pornography even prostitution. If a person is pro-choice, they are pro-choice all the way. Most feminists that object they are radicals, I'm a Libertarian. Your question is very funny and I'm surprised you managed to get starred. I often wonder why pro-lifers don't protest at fertility clinics since many embryos are discarded after a pregnancy is obtained. There are hypocrites on both sides. I'm truly Pro-choice. There is nothing wrong with pornography or stripping.

I thought it was the conservatives who were opposed to stripping or any form of human sexuality.
But to answer your question, even though the two are so totally different that the question really makes no sense, an abortion is a private decision that a woman makes regarding her own body. Opponents of stripping feel that women tend to be forced into it (Whether actually forced or forced due to no other option), and they are doing it for the gratification of men, rather than for their own benefit. On the other hand, there are many who feel that it is very empowering for women. On yet another hand, there are those who feel that it's just a job like any other, you do your work and you get paid and go home. There is no one school of thought on the subject.

Even if the two issues were remotely connected, it boils down to common sense:
I don't have to approve of a person's choices, but that doesn't mean I have the right to force my views and/or opinions on them. Everyone has a right to do what they feel is good for them, and I speak up so everyone can enjoy that right.
Leave morality to the theologians.

if a person wants to strip down and dance that's their choice as long as they don't do it in a public venue which is against the law. on the other hand abortion is the killing of another person's life and while it's the woman's body there is another body inside of her that doesn't have a say in the matter

What same people? Show me where you read that. I just flat @ss don't believe you. Anyone liberal enough to say women have the right of choice to get an abortion would not give a raw rat's @ss what else she did with her body. Stop making crap up to make other people look like hypocrites.

I am pro-choice and have no issue with stripping or pornography. I also want to have prostitution legalized like it is in Nevada.

I don't object to stripping or pornography. You see, I'm not actually arrogant enough to think that my opinion of those occupations matters more than the opinion of the people who are currently working as strippers and pornographic actors. As long as they weren't forcefully employed, I'm fine with them doing whatever they want. After all, it's not my life, and it's not my decision, so I cannot judge them for choosing those careers.
