Mitch just watched the 2007 NBA Finals and thought, "We need Tony Parker." And since keeping Kobe will eventually cost Mitch his job, he decides to trade Kobe too.
Smush Parker, Kobe Bryant, 2nd round draft pick for Tony Parker, Robert Horry, and Francisco Elson.
Parker for Parker
3 rings for 7 rings
2nd round draft for Elson
I know Mitch definitely would take this trade. But if you were GM of San Antonio, would you take the trade?
I'd say, "Hell no to Kobe."

Someone said Tony Parker is overrated. Do you not read or watch sports news? When people say point guard, you hear about Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Baron Davis. Hell, even Deron Williams got more coverage than Tony Parker. You cannot be overrated if you ain't even rated.
Another said Duncan, Bryant, and Ginobili wouldn't change much for the Spurs. I'll agree with you on the condition that Kobe plays like he want rings, not the MVP. Kobe quit playing the triangle offense with Shaq because Shaq was getting the MVP and Kobe isn't. Kobe is jealous little monkey, and he can't stand it if he has to play second fiddle to Duncan.

The expression is "Not no but HELL, NO!" Kobe could never play for the Spurs. Pop would quit before he'd allow a prima donna like that on the team.
Smush Parker?? What kind of drugs are you on?
And for the guy who thinks Tony is overrated and replaceable: Tony and the Spurs are in the finals. Where's your team?

People wouldn't trade Parker for Kobe?!?!?! Are all of you people for real ?!
When this is all said and done and we are all grey haired smelly old people, Kobe Bryant will arguably be one of the best players to ever live. Parker is a good ball player, I won't argue that... but please don't ever compare him to Kobe. Parker is the worst defender in the Spurs starting line-up, a mediocre passer, and a bad 3 point shooter. However, Parker is maybe the quickest player in the whole league and is a monster in the paint.
Kobe Bryant has no flaws...seriously. He is on the All NBA first team, and the All defense team just like Tim Duncan.
Alice K - I always see your posts on here and respect you as someone that knows the game very well. I do however have to say that I was shocked to see you type Parker's team is in the finals where is your team ?
Alice, Duncan's team is in the finals. A Kobe/Duncan combo could be the deadliest combo in basketball history. Let's not be naive now!! :)

I will admit, I thought it was going to be a ridiculously stupid trade when I saw the teams, but it's a relatively good trade. First of all, I can't see the Spurs letting Timmy go. They're getting too little in return. Very good trade for the Jazz. The Knicks, well..i'm not really sure. I think they want to keep Jamal. Lakers wouldn't make that trade because they'd have Gasol, Duncan and Bynum. They want Bynum to develop.

I'd hate to lose Tony Parker but that trade would be a slam dunk for the Spurs. Your talking about winning 3-4 in a row after this year. The Lakers would never do this though.

There is no way that trade would happen. If you took tony parker and put him on the bobcats, they wouldnt win any more games than they did last year. Kobe isnt going anywhere. The lakers are already talking to the pacers and jermaine o'neal, and i wouldnt be surprised if they also made a run at chauncey billups.

Yes I would take the trade. Tim Duncan and Kobe can win a title.
If I were Mitch I would say hell no.
Kobe is worth more than all of those players. If not, than just a little.

This trade CANNOT happen due to NBA trading rules. The salaries of the players involved would preclude this from happening.
I think you would have to work out the salaries of players involved to balance the salaried being exchanged.

i would say yes if i were the gm of the spurs beacuse you wouldnt be losing much and youd have a good team with ducan, kobe and ginobli scoring you would have bruce bowen and ducan ''dounuts'' playing defence
but you would have oberto getting in the way. so i would also trade oberto

If I were the GM of the Spurs, I'd say "No" to that trade, and then add a "Hell no" after that just to emphasize it..
