Yes, sometimes. Depending on the situation, I just want the fighting to stop! Especially with people I love.

No I don't. Why? Because I don't believe in apologising if there is nothing to apologise for. If there is no right or wrong then agree to disagree and end the argument there. It's better to do it this way than to apologise or else you'll eventually find that your viewpoint is not being acknowledged by the other person and that you're growing more and more angry as the issue keeps getting pushed to the side.

In addition, if you look at the situation from the other person's perspective, they may reach a point where they will not believe it when you say that you are sorry because to them you haven't listened to their side properly. To that person you are just saying sorry to shut them up which is even more infuriating.

Next time you are in an argument with the person, keep your voice calm and explain your side of the story. If you feel your temper rising or if the other person doesn't want to stop nagging about the issue - you keep quiet, and they'll eventually stop talking. Then proceed with your point. If that still doesn't help, agree to come back together to discuss the issue later, like the next day or something like that, when you all would have sufficiently cooled off and could talk sensibly.

But don't apologise for apologising sake - it doesn't solve anything.

No, the only person I really ever argue with is my husband. When we argue, we usually have something decent to argue about. If I feel strongly about it, I don't back down. Compromise is the name of the game. Not backing down to avoid the fight.

I don't really apologize. I just tell them the arguement is stupid and pointless, and walk away. It's not worth giving in just to end an arguement about what you believe in.

I am horrifically non-confrontational, and I most times will apologize as you say, but not if my character has been attacked or jeopordized.

I just blame it all on myself to stop the fighting. I hate when people are unhappy
