I had a customer recently and they became upset with my services even though, the Better Business Bureau and PayPal all agree with me.

Since they aren't getting satisfaction, they continually send me bills via PayPal (I think that is business distruption and harassment) and have posted a libelous blog entry.

I know about the libel bit and am taking care of it, but the time and money I am loosing is mounting.

What other things should I research besides libel?

Thanks,
Gary

You could call the police with a report of electronic stalking. That's a criminal remedy.

As far as a civil remedy, there is, of course, libel. There's also tortious interference with business and plain ol' negligence. I think that you're right on with libel, though--particularly if you're losing money, as the biggest hurdle to a libel suit is showing economic harm.

find out who hosts the site ( the webhost ) and write a complaint to that host to have the site removed.

screen cap (alt + Print Screen - then paste it into your favorite graphics editor...ie IRFANVIEW) the blog entry and print it up so you have proof that the entry was libelous.

Keep all transactions and emails from paypal and the BBB both a hard copy (print) and saved files.

If the libelous post is not removed, file a civil case against the webhost and that person who owns the blog in the states they belong to.

You could likely sue them for interference with business opportunities (if they are keeping you from getting customers). You may also be able to charge them for sending you the bills if they are baseless. then maybe they would lay off. Ask PayPal if that's possible.

It's called Libel and you can sue big time.

Keep all proof, contact AG office, they have cyber crime section, email them and send your proof. FBI also has cyber crime unit.
