Who would you say is more dominant in our government now, the republicans or the democrats?

I would say this question belongs in the Politics & Government category since you are asking about something that is happening now.

I would say that government is fairly evenly split. Republicans have the presidency, while the Democrats control congress. The Democratic majorities are 51-49 in the senate and 227-208 in the House of Representatives. These are not veto proof majorities. In the next election, the chances of either the House, Senate, or Presidency changing hands are about 50-50.
