the nba is becoming a bit of joke. i am a huge b-ball fan i LOVE college hoops but i think that the nba is DEF not what it used to be. there is no such thing as defense anymore and so many of the players dont hustle and just act like they could give a crap. i am not saying all players are like this but the majority are these days. i miss the good ole days

Lol, she's not a guy. I don't think she wants to play in the NBA. Maybe WNBA. But I get what she's saying. Its like that now. Its all about the stacks (money). The love of the game is not as strong.

There have been allot of rule changes that limit what a defender can do. This has led to allot of exaggerated stats, ticky tack fouls, and a whole heck of allot of offensive fouls. I think the biggest joke of the NBA the last 5 years or so has been the offensive foul. When a defender is standing in the circle painted under the hoop, and the offensive player slams into him, it is either a defensive foul or offensive foul. It should be neither: a NO CALL. This would stop the defensive player from FLOPPING all the time to try to draw the offensive foul, and force him to play REAL defense and try to block the shot instead of simply falling on his butt (basically what Bruce Bowen has mastered). I think that this would make the game more fun to watch with less stoppages of the clock. Less fouls, less free throws, less flopping & acting, less clock stoppage, less BS in the game = more fun to watch. But in order to see this happen, rules need to be changed. That is the difference between NCAA and NBA, RULES.

I hope you realize the irony of this question. The Spurs are often criticized as being boring because they DO play such solid defense. Now you're saying there's no such thing as defense in the NBA. I'm confused...

I definitely agree with you. There is no comparison from the old day till this era. Back then it used to be physical and toughness while right now there is too much fouls called. What's up with that!!!
