They couldn't defeat Bush in 2004. I think repugnicans could run Bin Laden and still win. Because the dems are so incompetent that they would probably dig up Stalin's bones to run as their nominee.

Barring Martial Law, the next President will almost certainly be a Democrat and the Dems will likely pick up 4 Senate and 30 House seats, with Independents gaining a seat or two in each House. Bush's unpopularity is dragging his Party down to the extent, that Fred Thompson, a one term Senator who's best known as an actor is the Front Runner for Nomination. And he shot himself in the foot last week with the Cuban Exiles, a major GOP voting and funding bloc in a must win State. With the Cubans owning a huge chunk of the Spanish Language Media nationally. That means the loss of Florida for a ticket headed by Thompson, and a major loss of Hispanic voters elsewhere. Obama has the Black vote locked up if he gets the nod and really doesn't piss off any major constituency beyond hard core Racists and Fundies, (lots of overlap there.) With Edwards on the ticket, he can neutralize a lot of the GOP advantage in the South. The GOP attacks on Edward's wealth aren't helping their cause--White Trash Boy Makes Good plays pretty well down there. Edwards, with Obama or Clinton as his running mate, carries the South and, with the Northern industrial States solid in the Dems camp, wins. Every Democrat to win the White House since 1964 has been a Southerner. Clinton scores well anywhere. Obama or Edwards can put her over the top. Things can happen between now and Nov 08. A lot of things can happen. But, given the things that are likely to happen, the Democratic nominee looks like a winner.

I think both parties are divided. The Republicans though, have by far the worst battle left to fight. Their best candidate(In terms of image and experience) is Rudy Guliani. However, Guliani, because of his social views, is absolutely unacceptable to the ridiculous moral majority that comprise a fair portion in, and a great deal of the power of, the Republican party. Democrats will bicker up to the primary, but however wins can expect the losers to get behind them 100% afterward, which will mean Obama or Clinton should be able to be competitive with any GOP war chest.

All the Democrats have to do is take all the states that Kerry won plus Ohio. After the disaster of the Bush presidency that should be pretty easy. None of the states that voted for Kerry will go Republican. There is widespread discontent in this country and everyone is ready for a change.

I am hoping that neither a Republican nor a Democratic is elected into office. Quite frankly, I do not know when or why we, as United States citizens, allowed our elections and government positions to be governed and dictated by only two parties. United States is supposed to be a Democracy, yet other nations have more choices when it comes to who is elected.

Don’t you think we need to put away our father’s and mother’s traditions and create a better American government? What I mean is, many people’s families hold a tradition of voting Democrat or voting Republican; it does not seem that they are voting for the best person to do the job, just the party that they represent. We, as a whole, need to broaden our sights on other parties and start looking at who is best for the job and not which party they belong to or who has the most money to advertise to the nation; the elections have become a disgrace, a popularity contest, not a job interview and acceptance like it should be.

There really doesnt seem to be much hope for the republican party. Gosh just looking at the New Hampshire debate alone tells me they are not unified at all. This will be their major downfall along with the war in Iraq. Mainly beacuse the Presidents a republican. Let face it the Democrat are clearly going to win the next election...let just hope it not Hillary!!!
I've got my money behing Obama, he seem to be a great candidate.

Here's my thought.
So far it's been a circus with candidates from BOTH sides, and it's a long way until the elections , I just have that idea that people will get sick of seeing the candidates from BOTH sides, and as we get close, the reps will bring out a candidate we haven't heard much about , as a counter to the overdose of candidates we now have.
And he will win it.
Just a thought.

well i don't know, i think who ever gets the Republican nomination will beat the Dems, i mean McCain may as well be a Dem he has no chance! i am going to pick Fred Thompson, i don't think Rudy has enough gas to hang with him once he commits. and when it comes right down to it it will be the in the hands of the religious right to either win or lose the presidency for the republican party. but i think who ever wins the republican nomination wins, especially if Clinton wins on the Dem side, i don't even think Bill would vote for her!

The Repubs or GOP are Toast if they pass the shamnesty. We will not forgive them for going along with the final rape of America, and the rebranding of our country into the united states of north a mexico. Here is where some smart people could win the whole thing, but Rudy aint going to get me to pull the lever. Might as well let the dems win eh? Bush has climbed into bed with em, and kennedy is his new best freind. Those of us who oppose this are bigots right? I should keep my bigoted, though informed vote home.
