Actually DW is a true WYSIWYG, however like all browsers it will render your page differently. This is due to the fact that all though it has a different rendering engine, it ALSO has to display code borders and lines so you can visually "see" your elements.

I agree that working in code view is a better way to go, however if you take DW's design views power to get a "feel" for your layout its actually quite powerful.

I recommend previewing often, and if it looks right in the browsers, IE 6-7, Firefox etc... Then roll with it. Try and validate your code as you work on it. You will have a MUCH greater chance of success with multiple browsers with valid XHTML and CSS.

You can validate your XHTML here:
http://validator.w3.org/

You can validate your CSS here:
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

Hope that helps.

Some things that work in Deamweaver don't work in IE. It may need a mix if Dreamweaver and FrontPage. The ultimate way is to learn HTML and/or XHTML and hard code it by hand in a text editor, this is how big companies do it.
I could suggest a quick fix but you could go round in circles for weeks...

It's a small hurdel, but you will have to learn to go into the code in dreamweaver and handcode to fix the mistakes, so that your site will look the same in all browsers. I had the same problem, and after a lot of testing I figured out what works the same in all browsers. I only use TextPad as my editor, then I can open the page in Dreamweaver if needed.

DreamWeaver's Design Mode is absolutely horrible. Learn HTML, it will be the only way in the long run.

Not all browsers behave the same when interpretting code. You should always check your pages on several browsers and on several different computers. You'd be amazed at how different it can look when you try this.

Well, both are different browsers. You will need to contact your web developer to make slight changes in codes. :)
