I'm still eating 3 square, healthy meals, but until yesterday I had to eat something practically every two hours. Now, four hours can pass by and I'll start to feel hungry enough to eat. This is my first baby. Is this common? Thanks.

Definitely normal. When you are that far along it is common to stop gaining weight or even lose a LITTLE bit of weight (like a pound) because your baby is pushing against your stomach and making it smaller. Also, you are just so uncomfortable (and maybe hot in the summer) that you aren't as hungry. Don't worry and keep up the 3 meals/day. Good luck!

I'm at 35 1/2 weeks and I just don't seem as hungry as I used to be either. I think part of it has to do with the weather. The temperature has been around 90 with extremely high humidity. I just feel too hot to eat right now, but I make myself eat. Fresh fruits and vegetables (and lots of water!) seem to help cool me off a little, and I'm still eating healthy food.

I don't remember it with my daughter, but this pregnancy, I have totally lost my appetite for pretty much everything. I lost 3 pounds from my last appointment to this one. Which Dr. said was OK cause I was gaining a little too much anyway ;)
I think alot of it has to to with the fact that the baby gets bigger and pushes on your stomach, so there just isn't room for food anymore.

Hi Tally,

Yes, this is totally normal. It is the bodies way of preparing for delivery. Plus the baby is taking up a whole lot more room!

Don't worry, everything is fine. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I don't know if its common but the same thing happened to me and I had to see a nutritionist, because I wasn't gaining enough weight for the baby.Just let your doctor know and see how they feel about it.
