I have A windows XP computer, when i got to Start then click on search, that thing to search for files and folders, and say I ype in the letter a, then under what I just typed a drop dwon menu of what I've searched for in the past is there like aol, awesome, anything like that, how do I make it stop trying to guess what I'm looking for, I want that drop down menu gone, it's annoying, so please help, thanks a lot :)

Basically the input box for the search text is looking at past search entries so when you key in the letter "a", it will display the option to select any past searches that start with the letter "a". To delete them, use the to highlight the choice and then press the key. I don't know of a way unfortunately to clear them all with one command. Oh, if you hit the without any text in the input box, you will see all the previous searches and can delete them pretty quickly.

duno but its called autocomplete. on internet searches it's in internet options advanced tab and then autocomplete, maybe it will apply to both if you turn it off. Mine is default off. good luck hiding your porn! nah jj.
