Do some fish swim on slants or tilt?? My goldfishies seem to be on a tilt a little. Not on their side but on a 5 to 10 degree slant. They swim properly and seem to be doing great. No illnesses visible. They are eating and everything.

The heads are neither up or down. They look and seem great.

I feed them goldfish flakes and freeze dried blood woms. Green peas once in awhile.

Some fish do, but it's not typical in goldfish. Are they head up or head down?

Really I wouldn't be concerned about such a minor slant either way, especially since they show no other signs of problems.

They could either have a small infection in their intestines or swim bladder which can cause this. You can try adding more variety to their diet including more fiber, as constipation can also cause this. Look for Tubifex or live food at the fish store. Also make sure you are feeding them goldfish food and not basic tropical fish food. Goldfish need a special diet.

Making the water more shallow can relief the fish if you start to notice they are tilting more. This reduces the pressure on the swim bladder.

is your aquarium by a window where natural light is coming in??? if so the stand/or whatever you have it on is tilted, therefore your fish are swiming by the way the light is bouncing off of the top of the water.

I think It should really matter much. Try to see if there are other behavioral patterns.
