my dad got an email from optimun online yesterday saying we're being warned because someone was downloading movies. i was using limewire and i downloaded torrent files and use bitcomet. i got a warning, so i know im not in trouble, but which program do you think got me caught, limewire or bitcomet.

also, do you think i should completely stop downloading movies, or should i wait a few months before i do it again?

does anyone know if mIRC is a good program?

I would stop downloading movies from any file sharing program. It wont matter if you wait a few months. ISPs are now monitoring previously warned customers full time. It is illegal to download copy righted material without gaining the authors consent. However, if you still choose to do so, IRC is a good way to do it. Just remember, IRC is full of trojans and hackers just waiting to gain access to peoples computers.

I would say that it was limewire because it supports spyware. Bitcomet may also support differant kinks of spyware which is common in p2p downloaders; and if you remove the spyware than the program will no longer function. Try using Bitlord. It does not support any kind of spyware. you can find a download link at torrenspy.com; I have used it for over a year with no problems.

I'd guess that neither of these two programs caught you out. Your ISP have noticed your high download usage & perhaps looked into what was the cause.
Other than that, I'm not judging on whether or not you should continue downloading in this manner, but I will remind you that it infringes copyright & is therefore illegal.
But, be prepared to face the consequences if you continue, especially as your ISP have given you a warning!

My first pick to be the one that got you in hot wire would be limewire. They are being investigated for cpyright infringement, in that the stuff they offer to download is alleged to be pirated !. STAY AWAY FROM THERE !!! That other isn't anything too good either.

You should stop unless you can afford the fine and jail time--you shouldnt push your luck. Ask Paris Hilton.

They are warning you because they caught you, I doubt they will do it again if you carry on, the next time, I think they will just sent their lawyers.
