Generally if the discharge is smelly or yellow it means you probably have an infection so get it checked out by your GP. These are normally easy to treat with antibiotics and nothing to worry about.

However, its normal for women to produce some discharge which varies in viscosity depending on the time of your menstrual cycle.

About two weeks after your period when you are getting ready to ovulate the discharge tends to become very watery and often clear. This is all controlled by your hormones and its thought that its the body's way of encouraging sperm to be able to swim up and through the cervix to fertilize the egg!

If the egg is not fertilized that month it dies and leading up to your 'period' the body recognizes this and the discharge starts to thicken again to protect the opening of the cervix (and thus making it harder for sperm to swim through because its 'unnecessary' for them to go there). And after your period the cycle begins all over again.

Good luck with the baby making!

p.s. If you find some spots of blood on your undies a day or two after your egg is fertilized this could mean you're pregnant! This occurs when the newly fertilized egg attaches itself to the wall of the uterus. However, this spotting can easily go unnoticed because its literally a spot or two at most, but if you're planning on having a baby this might be something to look out for, you won't get any pregnancy test kits that can confirm this early on!

White discharge usually means you have some type of infection. It has nothing to do with "making babies". What you might want to do is go tothe doctor and get checked. It could be several different things. One could be a bacteria infection (only if it has a fishy odor), or it could be a yeast infection which you can buy something from the drug store for that. If you're sexually active and not using protection it could be an STD (sexually transmitted disease) like Chlamydia. Your best bet is to see a doctor as soon as possible. But by no means does it mean "It's baby making time". Trust me! Get checked!

I don't think so. If you want to make a baby, try taking a home ovulation test. That will tell you when you are most fertile. It sounds to me like you are just about to start your period.

White discharge is NOT indicative of ovulation. Around ovulation your disharge is clear and stretchy (hence the reason they call it 'egg white disharge')
