Hello:

Which OS are you running? Windows XP/Vista, Mac and Linux have built-in compression tools. The one in XP is kind of primitive, but it works. You get to it from the right-click context menu in Explorer.

There are a bunch of others out there, including WinZip, WinRAR and others. You can google this kind of thing and find several. Some are free. :-)
