I'm amazed! The first time I visit the English version and find someone who's in the same situation as me.

I'm 30 and I have had a handful of jobs, many of them lasting for months (all but one that lasted some years). I'm not clear about what my future should be. I've been really trying to figure this out many times. I was talking with a close friend just half an hour ago and I tried to be elusive on this topic. It embarrasses me. Perhaps now is time where you can't keep with the same excuses you used five years ago. Reaching the thirties is a kind of a milestone in your career, as when you were studying for an exam you had the take the next day. You fear being committed to something that may last for years and years and may not be fulfilling and you probably have this fear.

I don't know what you should do. I'd probably be the best in understanding you, but the worst in giving advice. First of all perhaps you should avoid the pub and pay attention to the way you're wasting your time. Set easy goals, one-day, two-day goals, one week as the longest, don't fool yourself with long term decisions you know you won't maintain. Stick to some job that gives you some money even if that's not the perfect place to be in (but be alert if something better appears). Money is crucial. Write down your preferences, there should be something you're more skilled at or you like the most. Some people are more social, some others prefer working at the office ordering the files. Don't make excuses. Do something constructive (I've been applying this myself just recently).

I hope you will pass over my mistakes (I'm not a native).

Hi, lots of people haven't got a clue what to do, and those who always wanted to do a certain thing and work their lives towards it often find it was the wrong choice. Go with the flow rather that go to the pub, you follow the chances life gives you and you will live a great life. I've done lots of different things and am still not sure where I'm going, I'll know when I get there.

Hotel and Catering is always a good bet as you have the chance to get board and lodging as part of the contract. It's hard work, but if you work for one of the big groups you can get the chance to travel the world, learning new languages, and seeing new places. You must be serious about this though. Cut the pub out as much as possible.

If you like fresh air and the outdoor life, try looking into a career as a gardener. I reckon that gardening could be one of "the" jobs of the future. There's money to be made in gardening for the rich and famous.

Start by writing a list of your strengths/talents and weaknessess, knowing what you dont want to do is just as important. If you find you are not making much progress at this ask a friend or family member to describe you on paper.

Then write down the jobs you would like to do and those as I child you dreamed of doing.

Theres a niche out there for everybody, you will soon see how your abilities could influence your career choice.

This could involve training, education, gaining some voluntary experience, either way you are progressing towards your goals.

Try something that allows you to wear many different hats. It sounds like you get bored easily and a job that has you multi-tasking might just do the trick.
