In order for your home to be listed on the MLS, the listing must be submitted by a member of the MLS. Real Estate brokers/agents that are members of the MLS can decide what business model they choose to operate under. Here are several business models currently available in the real estate industry:

This type of service is called "limited service". Advantage the fees are usually lower, disadvantage you pay the fees upfront weather your home sells or not, and you don't have an agent out there promoting your home for you. You must be responsible for acting as your own agent including providing all of the legal disclosures required by your state.

Good luck selling your home. You're currently in a buyers market which means there are more homes on the market than buyers, so the home prices are going lower.

You are obviously not getting the support you need here as I can see by the other respondents. I saw a sign on the side of the road that said, "Get your house listed on the MLS for only $395.00." I gotta think that if it is that expensive, you can get on the actual MLS and not some private listing service. I would call Buy Owner and ask if their MLS is the same as the realtor's MLS.

Several companies will list your home on MLS for a set price. Its a waste of time and energy because no agent will show it anyway. There are 1,000's of homes for sale in central Florida. Try and find some creative way to advertise it and keep the price low. It will sell.

MLS's are developed, paid for, and reserved for the exclusive usage of the members who financially support the association.

Nope. That's why you should use a Realtor. You can go through one of those "Buy Owner" type of places that claim to give you one, but they don't work and it's a private MLS, so you still won't be listed in any national MLS databases.
