You still get a tan with a high factor, just slower, I always cover myself in St Tropez or Fake Bake so I am brown and then I use at the very least factor 15 to make sure I don't burn.
If you see what women in there 40's look like when they have abused the sun, it's not pretty they look so old and wrinkled.
Oil and vinegar that sounds nasty, you keep slapping that cream on!

Those two points aren't mutually exclusive. I look after my skin - factor 50 all the way, plus cliniques artificial tanning lotion. Skin cancer happens a lot, to younger and younger people. You may not know you've got it until its too late - sometimes people ignore the signs until its spread to somewhere else. Dark skinned people (here in the Middle East anyway) put on lightening lotion to 'pale up'. Weird world we live in. PS what was that person doing with the oil and vinegar - turning into a salad dressing??!

Even though the water is cool it is the UVA or UVB rays that get magnifys. s you get more burning. ever heard any one complain about a burnt foot that was trailing in the water. also water washes off the lotion. oil is for gettin really really brown.. not good!!
if yu want to get brower maybe put on a high factor then top up with a low one for a bit then a stronger one again slowly diluting it. if you burn jusp in the pool for a few mins then go sit at the bar in the shade for a bit then put on stronger stuff
before you go Chillax again
have a good holiday.
ive been thinking bout this a lot as im off all round asia for the summer and it gonna be really really hot....... and sweaty:-)

I wear sunscreen of SPF 40 + but I still tan. I work outside in the summer part time too so it can't be helped. I still look after my skin though.

I look after my skin!!! I have very pale skin and I burn easily. In fact, I worry about the possibility of getting skin cancer, because I didn't look after my skin in the past.
In fact, I got so sunburnt once that my face was hideous. It not only peeled, but also cracked and bled. It was horrible!
Oil and vinegar? It sounds like she's preparing to be the main dish of somebody's dinner!

Being a Redhead and I freckle and burn - I have to use a really good sun lotion - I do not sit the sun for long - usually seek the shade after about 30/40 mins

I would rather be protected than get burnt... I'd rather be pasty or get a spray tan once in a while than have leather bag skin when i'm old or even worse, skin cancer!
