x run is 9 - 1 = 8, so the x is 7/8*8 + 1 = 8

y rise is 11 - (-5) = 16 so the y is 7/8*16 + (-5) = 9

(8,9) is your answer.

(8, 9).

The answer is A plus 7/8 of the difference between B and A:

A + 7/8 * (B-A) =
(1,-5) + 7/8 * ((9,11) - (1,-5))
(1,-5) + 7/8 * (8,16)
(1,-5) + (7/8 * 8, 7/8 * 16)
(1,-5) + (7,14)
(8,9)
