I would check into the vacation club villas. There are many to choose from at the various resorts. The convenience of being on property can't be stressed enough. With a large group, you may not always want to hang out together. If you're parked out in a lot somewhere, you are limited to your coming and going. Being on property gives you transportation to and from the many parks whenever you are ready. Some are even within walking distance.
There are also benefits of being a group of 8 or more. When you call Disney, ask about Magical Gatherings. They might even have recommendations for lodging too.
Have a great trip.

http://www.allstarvacationhomes.com/ You can find places for $150/night that sleeps 8+ people. Some elements will be a hassle (picking up the keys, driving to the parks, paying for parking, cleaning up after yourselves).
If you want a real vacation, stay at the Pop Century (or any better Disney hotel that you can afford) on Disney property. You don't have to rent a car or pay for parking. You can take the magical express for free transportation from the airport. The group can split up at any time in the day and tired people can take the bus back to the hotel for a nap and meet up with the group later (or not). The beds are full sized (not queen) so if you are big people, need to take that into consideration. Also, be aware that some rental property and suite hotel beds are fold out couches . Not comfortable!

I think that whatever your choice might be, stay inside Disney World area! There are many resorts to choose from!I really like the Boardwalk resort...its very fun and lots of space for the kids! Its really great there...I stayed there for 8 days. Stay inside the Disney World area! On some days, there will be Extra Magic Hours. With extra magic hours, everyone who is staying at a Disney Resort gets extra hours at a theme park!

I would stay IN the park probably at an All Star resort. They are like $79 a night or something and have a lot of fun stuff for kids to do and look at =)

I have always liked the All Star Sports. They have a nice food court, 3 Pools and plenty of space for kids to play and just to sit. Parking was always easy. You can choose your sport themed building (they do ask for a 2nd choice). They have a similar once for music and movies. It is close enough to go back during the day and close enough if you stay late at night. You save some $ you can spend elsewhere.
HAVE FUN - I AM JEALOUS!

Your best bet is to book a villa. Check out Sheraton Vistana Resort. It is 5 miles from Disney in Lake Buena Vista. They have 2 bedroom villas which sleep up to 8 people. Depending on time of year you're going, you can get a good deal.

Stay on Disney Property. You'll be able to take advantage of Disney's Magical Express (free transportation from the airport to Disney World), you'll have free use of Disney Transportation while on property (from your hotel to all of the theme parks, water parks, night clubs, and other guest areas), and you can take advantage of special pricing they have during certain times of the year, where they include the dining plan at no additional charge.

Probably in one of the Disney Resort Hotels.
They're right on the park.
I've stayed there and they are pretty awesome.
They are themed for the kids, but there are many adult things that you can do as well.

I would suggest Fort Wilderness. You can rent a cabin that sleeps that many and at the same time have kitchen privileges that would save you a bit of money on food.
