In the main cops pull cars over because they think something is questionable about the way it is driven or the person driving it.
Some static checks where a car is stopped every few cars may well run on colour, square/round headlights, big/small and a whole host of a truly random stop. That includes all the colours and as much variation as they can put into it.
All those who keep saying that red is picked on are probably proving the point that people who drive red cars are bad drivers! Come on - if the police only picked on one colour the bad guys would be in a grey car and in absolute heaven!!!!

This has been one of the legendary myths of cars. Red raises insurance, gets more tickets, blah blah blah.
Red and black do appear to move faster and red is more flashy than whites and blue. However, in all honesty there aren't many cops these days that pull over cars without using a radar so looks are just that...looks. If you saw a red car amongst blue, green, white, gray, and tan, it will certainly catch your eye first. This alone could contribute to more cars with flashy colors being pulled over more. You could drive a bright pink car or a flashy yellow car and if you drive within the speed limit and act like you've got some sense then 99% of the time you won't be pulled over.
FYI...color has nothing to do with insurance, unless you consider it the colors fault for getting pulled over because you were clocked first while speeding in a flashy car.

I believe statiscally, people that prefer to drive a certain color of car like red or blue or black may be more aggresive drivers than someone that prefers a green or silver color. I'm sure that as cops gain experience in writing tickets, they probably observe a pattern of vehicle color after a while and maybe subconsiously look for that color more than another...they're human too and trust their intuition a lot.

Security officers have no legal power to detain you, if they put you in handcuffs, 95% of the time that is illegal, only in extreme situations are you as a security officer (1 citizen) allowed to detain another citizen. however a security officer is acting in the interest of a business entity, they can escort you off the premise, and use justified amounts of force in doing so. Police have arrest powers and can take you to jail, there citations are legally enforced, security citations are privately enforced. In very few citations (outside of the mall of-course) do security personal respond to incidents An officers personal firearm permit is different from the one related to his job, and is just like the one you or I can have, while on duty they work under one that must be renewed every 2, 6, 9, or even 12 months, it is the equivalent to a federal firearms permit, it can go anywhere except inside a jail really, the one you, me and the security officer can have has limitations, you cant have it on government property, or in a place that has outlawed either concealed or visible firearms, also anywhere where alcohol is sold, however if the seller grants permission (such as to his own security force) then those with permission can carry on that property.

Bright or red vehicles or any other similar color get pulled over for obvious reasons - they're more noticeable. When you're driving don't you tend to notice red, yellow or purple cars more than the others?
