Put it this way.... I've seen plenty of mean drunks, but I've never seen a mean pothead.

No, why is illegal though? Not because of health risks, immorality or anything else. Read the Emperor Wears No Cloths, by Jack Herer. A very interesting read.
I personally don't think there is anything wrong with it, though I know many people will disagree with me. But prohibition in general is wrong and it does not work. Milton Friedman laid out on of the best arguments for ending the prohibition of drugs I have ever read.
williamzo----the increase in crime surrounding drugs is a direct result of the "War on Drugs", which Milton Friedman explains very well. We saw the same thing with alcohol prohibition, ie. Al Capone
you need to wake up and do some thinking. Criminalization of addiction doesn't help anyone either, but indeed makes the situation worse.

I think it depends on the person, I've known lots of people who do nothing but smoke all day and can only ever keep a crappy part time job for a little while. And they always, ALWAYS end up either screwing over their friends or letting them down in some way.
Saying that I know other friends who smoke it casually and are fantastic members of society. So there you go. I think it depends on the persons own morals.

Really, the question comes down to "Does it
hurt other people?".
And anything that makes you less alert, etc.
has the potential to put others at risk.
However, ANY action can potentially put others
at risk - you end up having to weigh the circumstances.
Certainly disobeying the law tends to spread
lawlessness. Consuming illegal drugs does
tend to promote the illegal drug trade.
We're all bad people. You're not the worst.

Not imoral - I don't think it is any worse than someone who drinks alcohol or smokes cigarettes. It does not make you a bad person.

No... smoking pot in & of itself is not immoral or bad.
If you make hurtful decisions that impact people or yourself negatively, that would mean you made bad decisions, maybe because of pot... but pot is not immoral by itself.
It was made illegal in order to oppress migrant farm workers from Mexico.
Is that moral?

Breaking the law is usually considered immoral. Pot doesn't make you a bad person, but it's not right either. You do contribute to the drug market.

I dont think it makes you a bad person, but i know that it does change your emotional state and your attitude. I am kinda biased because I HATE drugs. But that doesnt mean I hate people who do them, it just means I wish they wouldnt. I want to talk to a real person, not the drug that they are on.

It doesn't make you a bad person.
It can make you a lazy and stupid person, but that's not "bad."
IMO potheads are better than alcoholics. No one ever beat his wife to death when he was stoned, and stoners are generally too relaxed to get in a car and go anywhere.

Drug dealers are known for their violence and murders and the illegal smuggling of drugs into different countries.
Buy drugs and you support this chain of violence (even if you only buy it in small quantities)
So yes it is immoral because of the price that is payed to bring it to you.
