Dinosaur Valley and Meridian are both good locations. East Texas was home to the Caddo Indians so if you want artifacts in addition to fossils, check around Caddo Lake.

When I was in college one of the history classes I took went to a lime Stone quarry in Thor ton, IL and we found all kinds of fossils. After all lime stone is made from the bones of dead creatures. Check in the phone book and is if you have a lime stone quarry need you and talk to them and find out if they have an open weekend in which you could go and look around. You may have to sign a waver through. Remember you will find small fossil impressions in the stone not large bones but then again you might.

You might start in Crawford, when Bush is vacationing at the ranch with some of his Cabinet.
