Washington and all those other radical, pinko, liberal, socialist, Communist terrorists are, to George W Bush, "part of the problem", those radical free-thinkers had the sheer GALL to stand up to a repressive, non representative regime and forge a brand new nation, with no support from ANYONE else in the World.
Could the term "Freedom Fighters" have been coined for them? They were in the strictest possible terms fighting for EXACTLY that, Freedom.
The same freedoms Americans gave away so blithely and cowardly in the days after Sept 11, 2001. Scared, reactionary Americans did exactly what Osama bin Laden and George W Bush wanted them to: Give up their freedoms for the illusion of safety.

Dubya's reply to being told about Washington was probably something like this:
"See, I know Warshington. In fact, I live there now, most of the year. An interesting part of the world, aint it."
Realistically, Dubya's probably not familiar with this speech. And to think that there may someday be a George W. Bush library! Will it be empty?

No offense to George Washington, but he did not imagine aircraft and nuclear warfare.
The United States could also more or less sustain itself on its own resources during Washington's time, today we cannot.
Isolationism is not a sustainable policy in today's world.

Take a history class... Washington was a smart guy but he lived more than 200 years ago, back then we could easily hide behind the two huge oceans on either side of our continent... back then it took about two months (depending on the weather) to travel by sea from Europe to America; today it takes a few hours by jet... back then a cannon was the longest distance weapon anyone had and it could shoot a projectile about a 3/4 of a mile (depending on the cannon and shot) and kill a small group of people, today there are many countries with the capacity to launch missiles halfway across the world and obliterate whole cities... we saw in 1941 what happens when you ignore what is going on in the rest of the world and we saw it again on 9/11...

Dude, this president can't even remember his own words from the 2000, in a debate against Al Gore: Bush recalled that the U.S. humanitarian mission in Somalia -- begun by his father had "changed into a nation-building mission, and that's where the mission went wrong." He was referring to the deaths of 18 U.S. Army rangers who were killed in Mogadishu on Oct. 3-4, 1993, after a gun battle. U.S. forces were soon withdrawn from Somalia.
"The mission was changed, and as a result, our nation paid a price," Bush continued. "And so I don't think our troops ought to be used for what's called nation building."
If dum-dum can't remember his own words, how do you expect him to remember the words of far smarter men, whom I bet he likes to compare himself to, yet has done sorely lacking research about.

I doubt recent leaders even acknowledge this speech. And as far as terrorism, what came first the chicken or the egg. We know what terrorists have done here, but do we know what we have done there, for sure, in the past 60 years, which is how long this problem has been going on.

Bush doesn't read much.
And he probably detests pesky details like the ones you've posted.
God only knows how the man sees himself in his own mind...
For all we know, Bush fantasizes that God is leading him toward the great Rapture...

I am sure he did not forget them he may not agree
with an area which limits his power to execute a policy but does it show strength or defiance, that's strength if you ask me, it might be a policy that could affect me.
