I'll start by saying, I'm going to be asking my Dr. at my next appt...I'm just looking for anyone with a similiar issue.
I'm having pains in just one of my legs, especially at night and I've had a hard time standing up after laying down or sitting for a long period of time. I got out of bed the other day and immediatly my leg gave out and I fell. (Luckily my Great Dane has an enormous bed right there and I fell into that!) It almost feels like I pulled a muscle but it's not getting any better. I can't sit indian style anymore or even on any floor for that matter.
Anyone else have a similiar issue during pregnancy?

OMG! Vanessa, you need to calm down! First of all I doubt you're a Dr. let alone my Dr. I'm asking a question about leg pain, not jumping out of an airplane without a parachute!

I get leg cramps too. I'm at 22 wks. And they always happen when I'm sleeping at night. So when I feel one coming on...I just rotate my leg as well. It stops the pain. It only last for a couple of secs though. But yeah..it happens to me too.

I had a numb spot combined with pain on my left thigh when I was pregnant. It turned out that the weight that I gained during my pregnancy was putting pressure on the nerve that fed that area. It's got some big fancy name and I cannot remember what it is. It became hard to walk or stand for long periods of time. My OB sent me to see the guy that literally wrote the book on neurological disorders of pregnancy.

I am pregnant with my 3rd child right now (29 1/2 wks) and I had leg pain through all 3 pregnancies. I see a chiropractor on a regular basis and it helps but I've been told by my doctor that it is normal. Don't let the drama queens get you down. ;)

sciatica is what is sounds like. a nerve in your back is being pinched. I had the problem when pregnant(still do) hurts like hell. I also crushed some discs while pregnant due to the weight pulling forward. I now suffer from chronic back pain for the past 8 years.
Make sure you are under a doctors care and after the baby that they do something to fix your issues, if it stays with you.

I had this problem when I was pregnant too. My doctor said it was a potassium deficiency. To help, eat bananas and make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins everyday! Another thing that I found that helped was while you are laying down for a while is to stretch your legs out...don't point your toes, and shift your weight to your heels, by point your feet straight up. It works good to prevent these "Charlie Horses" and it also helps when you are getting a leg cramp.

Yes I had crippling leg cramps. And more in one leg than in the other, but they didnt last very long. It was so bad one day I sat in hot water in the bath...but only enough to cover the leg, because I was afraid of sitting in too hot a bath incase it was bad for the baby.
But the cramps only lasted a few weeks.
Good luck :)

I had these sharp shooting pains down the inside of my thighs. The doc said the baby could be laying on my siactic nerve. It felt like my leg was going to give out and she would move and then its gone

you could have a potential thrombosis which surfaces during pregnancy since this is a serious medical issue i would encourage you to call a doctor and let him determine if you are at risk for developing this problem and then do whatever to rid yourself of this asap prlonging is asking for trouble. this has nothing to do with muscles it is a venous condition i cannot believe that you are putting your life on the line like this!!!!!

When you get into bed at night, rotate each ankle about 20 times clockwise and counterclockwise. Leg cramps occur during pregnancy as do muscle knots. Rotating your feet should help prevent it.

Absolutely! With me it's my left leg. I can't even lay on my left side when I have Braxton Hicks cause it hurts my leg. I have to lay on my right side. I would definitely ask your dr about it next week. Maybe you layed on it wrong and did pull a muscle. My mom broke her hip just sleeping on it wrong a few years ago.
