Your okay! That's early to hear the heart beat. I know how nerve racking that can be but hang in there you'll be able to hear it soon enough! Did your doctor seem concerned? If not then you should be either. Do you have any books to read about pregnancy and delivery? Even if you don't like to read I recommend you do regardless. One of the books I started out with was What to Expect When Your Expecting. Goes through what to expect every month from pregnancy and Doc appts. Then if you have a specific topic (such as having a c-section) you can get some books just on that topic alone. That's what I did and I found that I was a lot calmer about things in general because I had a better idea of what was going on and what to expect.

Hi Ruby. For starters - congrats! It is still very early in the pregnancy and the heartbeat is very faint at this stage. Around 14 - 16 weeks the heartbeat is stronger and more audible. If you are really worried, ask your doctor or suggest an ultrasound (on the ultrasound you can see the lil heart beating which is wonderful!) You will have a scan around 20 weeks anyway, if you can wait til then. Good luck, relax and enjoy your baby x

The well-being care expert is pertaining to utilizing the dopler. once you pass on your appointment he will ask you some questions and then take a hear. he will placed goop on your abdomen, down low and use a device relating to the size of a poptart, basically thicker. he will relatively placed something on your stomache relating to the size of a curler deoderant bottle and pass it around till he hears the guts beat. It would not harm; in reality, that's relating to the main spectacular sound in the international . . . precise in the back of the sound of your man or woman youngster's laughter! good success!

This happened to a friend of mine and it FREAKED HER OUT - apparently the baby was behind her hip bone or something like that...She scheduled another ultrasound and everything ended up being fine...Speak with your doctor about your concerns, I'm sure he/she will be able to set your mind at ease :)

first of all "YES THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO HEAR THE HEARTBEAT" not usually with the normal dopplar in the doc office, that's usually harder to find it, but your doc would have sent you to get an ultrasound to check on baby. and if not he/she should have. the should be able to see, and hear a hearbeat on the ultrasound at least by 6 weeks. I would be asking your doc this question, and be getting an ultrasound appt. set up. I'm sorry you have to worrie, keep your chin up, and tell your doc what you want.

With my first pregancy, the doctor did not hear the heartbeat until I was 33 weeks along. Don't worry.

and? are they worried? sometimes it takes a while longer for the doctors to detect a heartbeat. it just depends on the person. and if the baby is moving around alot, it is hard.
