My husband just quit a job to start another job, this is his second day and he already wants to quit. The new job is full-time at a higher wage, his old one was only part time at minimum wage. I work full-time, I'm about 8wks pregnant, we have debt we need to pay off....... We've already decided we are moving in 6 months and he would quit and find a new job regardless at that time. However he already wants to quit and I guess go back to his previous job. We could really use the extra income. Why can't he just stick it out? I know I would, no matter how much I hated it. Come on we are pregnant, what is he thinking? How can I convince him to open his eyes!

Help him find a new job near where you will be moving.
Start a count down till he can quit his new job. If he can see a light at the end of the tunnel he maybe able to last.

You need to sit down with him when he's relaxed and in a good mood and discuss these issues. Perhaps the solution is not to quit work altogether but to find a part time job instead that has less reponsibility. That way, you'd still be bringing in SOME money but you'd have alot more time and energy to play w/ the kids and do some housework. The fact is, if you're both working, then it's up to BOTH of you to do house work. The day when women were the only ones doing laundry are WELL PASSED my friend. Men are very capable of doing any house work that a woman does and most MODERN men are happy to help since marriage, afterall, is supposed to be an equal partnership.

Just tell him that, tell him you just can't afford for him to quit right now. I mean with the baby and moving, you guys need stability, financilly and physically. If you can tough it out and work full time pregnant, then he can too. Tell him also that when it comes time you can no longer work, you'll need to have money in reserve as you'll most likely be out at least 6 weeks with the baby. He has to think about the bigger picture. But if he quits and you find yourself struggling, then go down and get on public assistance and get food stamps, it will be a major blow to his ego. And if he doesn't like that, tell him to get off his a.ss and go to work and stop quiting! Good luck.

He's apparently very immature. I don't know his actual situation but I do know that there are 2 sides to every story. He has to figure out a way to be a man and all the nagging in the world won't help either you or him right now. You're in this together and you have to find a way to make it work for both of you. Talk to him without nagging and whining.

Short of whacking him in the noggin with a ball bat? What is it with him? More money, longer hours and a kid on the way? Yet he wants to throw in the towel?
Only way to address this is to lay down the law. You tell him "Hey...dip! take a look at me. See what's coming into being in 7 months? Want to be part of his/her life? Then stay put and get to work. Oh...and grow up too"
Good luck my dear. I hope this guy sees the light and quits being selfish and just thinking about himself.
Plus...good luck and congats on the new addition. lets see if dad really wants to be a part of the baby's life.

Sounds like he's a little lazy and wants to be the stay at home mom. If your hubby can't recognize the importance of getting out of debt on his own, then you're both probably too young to be playing house.
