Unfortunately, my 4 year old daughter has complete power over me! my two little boys not so much.
But all my little girl has to do if she want me to buy her new shoes or clothes is look up at me with her big blues eyes whilst smiling the most angelic smile she can manage (cos she is very aware of my weaknesses) and say "please mummy-its very pretty and will make me beautiful" and its hers! I have tried walking away saying "you are beautiful already darling" but it doesnt work - guilt gets the better of me!
I end up kicking myself after cos shes done it aagain!!

just so you completely understand quite what my daughter is like - before people start telling me off, for letting her get away with this behaviour and how I'm not doing her any favours for later life...i want to share with you a conversation we had in the local shop the other day.

her "mummy, can I share my choclate with the doggy outside"
me "i don't think so, it will make the doggy poorly mate"
her (firmly) I'm not a mate!
Me "are you not-what are you then?"
her (very sweetly) "I'm a princess"

....what are you supposed to do?

Power is such an over used word for living by the rules.

Teenagers say you have no power over me, when they want the rules changed, Adults say I will never let them over power me when they think the rules are unfair.

I say everyone has at some point abused power, underused there power, or sit back while others take your power.

power is just a word, nobody really has it. it is given to those who want it, then taken away by those who abuse it.

Absolutely not!! Never have, never will. I was born with my
own agenda and have been busy following it and living out
my dreams. I cannot imagine in a thousand lifetimes, being
controlled by anyone else.

Ya, my last 3 ex-girlfriends when we dated, I felt like I was married, & still do, -to my last one cause we lived together but it didn't work! (we still talk & I feel like we're only "seperated"!)-she still calls, & asks if I found a woman yet!

Yes, but there is no way in hell I'm letting them know, assuming they don't already that is.
